Creating a large inner courtyard with diverse scales and surfaces allows for the inclusion of many activities and users. The surrounding buildings are essentially freestanding at the street level with upper level links.

A community-scale auditorium, gymnasium and cafeteria combine with classrooms, administrative facilties, and housing; all elements share the courtyard spaces and large playgrounds/courts.
