Management and Funding

The mission philosophy is that the Principle Investigators will produce the scientific instruments with national funding. The launch vehicle, bus, and spacecraft operations would be the responsibility of ESA, or in the case of an international co-operation, be shared between the various agencies.

There is wide experience within the proposal team and their associated institutes in the management of space projects, and the production of space qualified hardware and software. Missions and experiments we have contributed to are to numerous to list in full, but include, SOHO (VIRGO, GOLF, SUMER, MDI), IPHIR,YOHKOH, EVRIS, ISO, XMM, SMM. We also have a firm background in ground-based helio and asteroseismology: instrumentation, data analysis, and theoretical interpretation. Some team members also have considerable experience in both optical and UV Fourier spectroscopy.
