Trains 93 Corpus: Dialogue D26

This page gives access to the DMT analysis of one dialogue, described in the table at the bottom of the page. Click on items to view the analysis.

Situation: The dialogue is part of an experiment in development of interactive computer programs. Two people discuss how to fulfill a transportation order using a train and other resources. One (S) knows more about what is possible, and the other (U) is responsible for creating a plan.

Participants: Participants S and U (representing a hoped for System and a paid User) interact to produce a plan for using a train to accomplish a multi featured task.

Acknowledgment: The dialogue was extracted from a large collection, including the Trains 91 project, Trains 93 and a successor project, Trips. The research reports and other products can be found on the internet.

Web Access to the Source: This index site leads in many directions to resources: http://www.cs.rochester.edu/research/cisd/resources/ .

Features of this dialogue: This dialogue has some unusual details. It has a very long interval of simple pursuit of open games, where the goals being pursued cooperatively do not change. It also has, in Turn 17, a use of the Socratic Challenge game outside of any tutoring context.
