Biography:

I was born in Montgomery County, Maryland.

I attended Princeton University and graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 1965. At which point, I attended Yale Law School and graduated in 1968.

For a little under a year, I worked at Wilmer, Cutler and Pickering in Washington D.C. However, it was not until I reached the University of Virginia School of Law that I found my true calling. Teaching. I taught at Virginia from 1968 until 1981 and during my time there, I was the Assistant Dean for Special Scholars.

In 1981, I came out to sunny southern California, yes friends, it is sunny year round. I have been teaching at the University of Southern California Law School since 1981 and am loving every minute of it.

In addition to teaching law students and undergraduate students here at the University of Southern California, I also tour the country giving a how to succeed in the first year of law school lecture to 81 law schools. I also prepare students for the bar exam by teaching criminal procedure and criminal law for Bar/Bri. Also, in addition to that, I give lectures to various audiences which include judges, prosecutors, public defenders and other legal practitioners on the recent decisions of the U.S. Supreme Court.
