My Teaching Assistants:

My Teaching Assistants are an invaluable part of the day to day machinations in my office. In addition to handling whatever research assignments I may have, the teaching assistants are largely responsible for the smooth running of my undergraduate class. Managing 100 undergraduates is not an easy task, but my teaching assistants make it appear effortless. They write the exams, grade the exams, prepare the handouts, and in general do any other administrative tasks. They've made my life so good that all I have to do is show up to lecture. Now, if only I could get teaching assistants for my law school classes.....

Trevor Ingold (1996-97): Trevor was my teaching assistant from January 1996 to May 1997. In addition to being such a great aid, especially during the spring semester of 1996, Trevor helped a great deal with my book Recent Decisions of the Supreme Court 1995-1996. Trevor is one cool customer and in the face of utter chaos, I can always count on Trevor to be the calm voice of reason.

Rich Lee (1996-97): Rich was my teaching assistant from August 1996 to May 1997. With Rich on board, the office became a truly wonderful place to be. Where Trevor is the calm cool cat, Rich is sheer enthusiasm and energy. Rich and Trevor complement each other very well and the two of them have made this office not only very efficient, but FUN. Last year, Rich definitely had this office and I stretch and re-think what we could do. You are looking at one of those products: this web-page. While Rich and Trevor were here, the class size was approximately 350 undergraduate students. While the class size has since diminished, I have always been fortunate to maintain a high quality of teaching assistants.

Del Wong (1997-98): Del was my teaching assistant from January 1997 to May 1998. Del was in many ways an invaluable asset to the team. During the summer of 1997, Del helped me tremendously with my book Recent Decisions of the Supreme Court 1996-97. Del always has a positive outlook and was truly a joy to have in the office.

Jesse Chavez (1997-98): Jesse was a part of the home team from August 1997 to May 1998. Jesse is a former UCLA Bruin although he seems to have found the light here at USC. He has spent a couple of years in Japan prior to starting law school and has brought an international flavor to my law 200 class. Jesse's dry humor and outgoing manner made him a pleasure to work with and I have no doubt that his students loved him dearly.

Stephanie Zavala (1998-99): Stephanie is a trojan through and through. After graduating from USC as an undergraduate with honors, she is doing remarkably well in the law school and will no doubt leave a lasting impression upon it as well. Already, Stephanie has been invaluable as a teaching assistant to my class and has left quite an impression not only on me but on her students as well. In addition to working full time last summer, Stephanie was a tremendous help in putting out my book Recent Decisions of The Supreme Court 1997-98. If Stephanie is not in the office or at her job, you can most likely find her out on the slopes as a snowboarding fiend.

Rich Chacon (1998-99): Rich has been a wonderful addition to Team Whitebread. Rich has a great sense of humor and a certain charm that makes him a very likable fellow. However, don't let that charm fool you, Rich's real-life experiences and his teaching ability make him an effective and invaluable member of the Law 200 team.
