Hypertext "course book" on design computing.
The project is to develop on-line web-based instructional material for supporting introductory and intermediate courses in design computing. The material would serve as something like a text for the course, but will take advantage of the characteristics of the WWW to become a more powerful resource for university level coursework. The development effort would not be made by a single individual or small team, but rather would be a large-scale cooperative effort carried out by university faculty members from throughout the world using the capabilities of electronic communication. Each participant faculty member would be responsible for a chapter or subchapter of the total effort. This project received a grant from the JumpStart Program at the University of Southern California, started in 1996, and is an on-going project.
