PLUS 501 Planning Theory 
Development of a critical perspective by becoming more aware of the intellectual roots of the planning profession, with a focus on practical outcomes of actions.

PLUS 539 Urban Demography and Growth
Theory and policy regarding population change in urban areas: housing; cohort analysis; immigration; ethnicity; employment; education. Methods of graphic representation; census data manipulation, interpretation, forecasting.

PLUS 506 The Social Context of Planning
Examination of the formation of the modern urban
environment with its consumer culture, social classes, and
racial and ethnic diversity.

PLUS 608 Survey Research Methods 
Collection and use of survey data: basic orientation, mechanics of using SAS, and interpretation of survey tabulations. Recommended preparation: PLUS 502 or PLUS 504. 

RED 509 Market Analysis for Real Estate Development 
Market analysis in a political, public, and planning context. Project impact analysis and impact fee calculations, technical aspects of market studies. Growth forecasts and master planning.
