biography: my teachers

my teachers and mentors include my PhD supervisor Jeanne Bamberger (mus cognition), my undergraduate research supervisor George Dantzig (optimization), and my graduate advisor Georgia Perakis; I had previously worked with Dimitris Bertsimas (computational finance), Jim Orlin (computational bio), and Rob Freund (nonlinear prog)

while a research assistant for Dick Larson, I created the Urban OR website, one of the pioneering sites of MIT's OpenCourseware project. Not to forget, my first teacher and mentor in mathematics, my father, Kim Lin Chew.

my primary piano teachers were Lip-Tat Ong, James Goldsworthy and David Deveau, my chamber music coaches included Marcus Thompson, John Harbison, Lynn Chang and Jean Rife, and vocal repertoire coaches Judith Bettina and John Oliver.
