William
Zartman is Jacob Blaustein Professor
of International Organizations and Conflict Resolution and Director
of Conflict Management at the John Hopkins University. Formerly
on the faculty of the University of South Carolina and New York
University; served as Olin Professor at the U.S. Naval Academy,
Halevy Professor at the Institute of Political Studies in Paris
and visiting professor at the American University in Paris; has
been a consultant to the U.S. Department of State; president
of the Tangier American Legation Museum Society; past president
of the Middle East Studies Association and of the American Institute
for Maghrib Studies; Ph.D., international relations, Yale University.
