Abstract: The local Langlands conjecture for a reductive group G over a local field F gives a parametrization of the irreducible representations of G(F) by Galois theoretic objects. For the group G=GL(n), it was established by Harris-Taylor and Henniart some 10 years ago. I will discuss the case of G=GSp(4), which was obtained jointly with S. Takeda last year.
