Biographical information for Prof. David Bogen
David Bogen is Associate Professor of Sociology and Director of the
Institute for Liberal Arts and Interdisciplinary Studies at Emerson
College. His research and writing is in areas of social theory, science
and technology studies, ethnomethodology, and the philosophy of language.
He is the author of "Order Without Rules: Critical Theory and the Logic of
Conversation" (SUNY Press, 1999) and (with Michael Lynch) "The Spectacle
of History: Speech, Text, and Memory at the Iran Contra Hearings" (Duke
University Press, 1996). For the past four years he has directed the
initiative in "Digital Culture" at Emerson, where he has worked with an
interdisciplinary team of faculty and technology professionals on
organizational development and design issues associated with this
