Biographical information for Prof. Rob Kling
Rob Kling is Professor of Information Science and Information Systems at
Indiana University, Bloomington where he also directs the Center for Social
Informatics (http://www.slis.indiana.edu/CSI). He is Editor-in-Chief of The
Information Society and has recently written and edited the second edition
of Computerization and Controversy: Value Conflicts and Social Choices.
His research focuses on topics within social informatics, such as the
roles of digital libraries and electronic publishing in improving
professional communication and organizational change in a digital economy.
His current research, "Scientific Communication and the Shaping of
Knowledge Networks" is funded by and NSF KDI grant. See
