Project Intent Tiffany Criss
Large-scale developments along the Vermont corridor have tended to destroy rather than enhance the existing urban fabric. Massive units covering multiple plots of land stand in stark contrast to smaller scaled local businesses and pedestrian oriented neighborhoods. My project seeks to show that it is possible to design a large-scale project which engages the existing dialogue of small lots and narrow buildings, helping to restore the urban fabric rather than completely wiping it out.
Co-Use Program
Strips of nature between the buildings orient the public/library outdoor spaces towards the community, and the private/school outdoor spaces toward the neighborhood.
