Lan Luo is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the University of Southern California. She holds a Ph.D. degree in Marketing from the University of Maryland. She is the author of various articles on new product development and marketing implications of new product launches. Her research has been published in Marketing Science, Journal of Marketing Research, Journal of Product Innovation Management, and Journal of Mechanical Design. In 2008 and 2009, Lan was the recipient of two major research awards (the John D.C. Little Award as the best paper published in Marketing Science or the marketing section of Management Science in 2007; and the Donald R. Lehmann Award as the best dissertation-based paper published in Journal of Marketing or Journal of Marketing Research in the last two years). She was also the finalist for the 2009 Paul E. Green Award for the article published in Journal of Marketing Research that demonstrates the most potential to contribute significantly to the practice of marketing research in 2008. Lan also received the 2006-2007 Golden Apple Award for her teaching excellence at the Marshall School of Business. Research Interests: New Product Development, Consumer Preference Models, Marketing Implications of New Product Introductions Methodologies: Quantitative Modeling, Industrial Organization, Bayesian Estimation, Econometric Methods.
