Announcements

1. We will have a review session on Monday May 5, 2003 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in our regular meeting room (WPH 102).

2. I have received no objections to our plan to convert the final exam from in-class to take-home. The revised directions for the exam are as follows:

Directions: The final exam will be a take-home exam. Please submit two essays, each about 3-4 pages in length (double-spaced, no smaller than 12 point type, 1" margins all around), no later than 1:00 p.m. May 13, 2003. The essays may be submitted to my mailbox in MHP 113. The essays may be on any two of the topics listed below, except that you may not write on both of the topics 1 and 4 (i.e. if you write an essay on topic 1 your second essay must be on one of 2, 3, or 5, and similarly if you write an essay on topic 4).

3. The new due date for the third paper is as follows: third paper is due no later than 4:30 p.m. May 8, 2003; it may be submitted to my mailbox in MHP 113. If you get a draft to me no later than May 1, I will read it and provide comments back to you by the review session on May 5. The paper topics (html format) are here.

5. Extended office hours this week: Tuesday May 6, 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday May 7, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday May 8, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Note: contrary to what I indicated in class today, I will not be able to hold office hours on Monday May 12. On both Friday May 9 and Monday May 12 I have all day strategic planning retreats, and so will not be able to be contacted. I hope this does not inconvenience anyone.
