  • City of Vancouver: This is the web site of the City of Vancouver. The site provides statistics and demographics of Vancouver as well as the projects and initiatives undertaken by the city of Vancouver. It also has links to departments and agencies.
  • Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD):This web site provides agendas and minutes of the GVRD as well as annual reports, issues, plans and projects. It also has links to GVRD member municipalities, departments, committees and Board of Directors.
  • GVRD Policy and Planning Department: This is the web site of the Policy and

  • Planning Department that works with municipalities, residents and other governments in order to develop plans to manage growth in ways that are cost-effective and enhance the region's livability. The web site has policy and planning reports (such as Economic Development Perspectives, Electoral Areas, Livable Region Strategic Plan) as well as economic indicators (the latest monthly statistics for the Vancouver Metropolitan area).
  • Greater Vancouver Planning and Land Use Services: This is the web page of the department providing policies that guide growth and change in Vancouver, with an emphasis on land use and built form. The web site has reports, weekly planning updates (on current rezoning applications and pending or current policy developments) and  by-laws policies and guidelines as well as information on projects and programs. It also provides the City Plan which is a city-wide plan that provides a framework for deciding City programs, priorities, and actions over the next thirty years. 
  • Downtown Vancouver Business Imporevement Association (DVBIA): This is the web site of DVBIA that works to maintain and enhance Downtown Vancouver as the place to live, work, shop, visit and have fun by developing and initiating innovative programs and by promoting theunique assets of the area. The site has contains downtown data, news, events, and maps.
  • Vancouver Economic Development Commission: This is the web site of the Vancouver Economic Development Commission that provides information and assistance to business people seeking to relocate, expand or move their businesses to the Vancouver area. The web site provides statistics and links to many Government and business associations.
  • Greater Vancouver Transportation Homepage:This is the web site of Greater Transportation Division (in the Engineering Services Department) that deals with various transportation matters. The web site provides the transportation plan and has links to other transportation resources.
  • Vancouver Translink: This is the web site of TRANSLINK whose goal is to plan and develop transportation systems that meet the current and future needs of Vancouver region. Translink supports the Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD) land-use and growth plans by providing a locally controlled, integrated, and environmentally sensitive transportation system. The web site includes transit schedules and minutes and agendas of Board Meetings as well as an executive summary of the Transport 1999.
  • Government of British Columbia: This is the web site of the Government of British Columbia. The site has links to assemblies, agencies, ministries, corporations, organizations and programs in British Columbia. It also provides some British Columbia Facts and news releases.
  • BC Stats: This web site provides access to data by region or subject as well as census information. It also includes various reports and quick facts in British Columbia .
  • BC 2000: This is the web page which introduces events and projects for making the millenium. It also talks about community partnerships.
  • BC Ministry of Environment, Lands and Parks: This is the web site of the Ministry of Environment, Lands and Parks. The site has information on air quality, climate change, crown land, Parks, flood management, water rights, water quality, waste management, pollution prevention, smoke control and vehicle emission.
  • BC Ministry of Transportation and Highways: This web site provides information on  transportation initiatives, road reports, route information, major projects, news releases, quick facts and resources and services.
  • BC Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing: This web page talks about the priorities of the Ministry (such as the Municipal Act Reform), various policies and programs on Housing and local government. It also provides information on the growth strategies.
  • BC Transit: This is the web site of BC Transit which provides a broad range of transit services in municipalities throughout the province, with the exception of the Greater Vancouver Area. The site has links to Victoria, Vancouver Translink, and other BC Communities. 
  • Statistics Canada: This is the web site of StatisticsCanada  which provides data on Canada's economy, land, people and government as well as data from the 1996 census and the statistical profile of Canadian Communities.
