EDUC 525 - Problems in Urban Education:
Learning
EDUC
525 is one of the four core courses for entering students in the Ed.D.
Program. Learning is one of the four themes in the Rossier School of
Education’s Ed.D. program along with Diversity, Accountability and
Leadership. This course offers useful strategies for identifying
learning challenges and opportunities and an approach to solving them by
understanding the research and theory foundations for developing
instructional solutions. The model used for diagnosis and treatment in this
course is most often called “human performance technology” or “gap
analysis.” It is described in one of the texts required for the course,
Turning Research Into Results: A Guide to Selecting the Right Performance
Solutions (Clark and Estes, 2002), and supported by a number of assigned
activities. To see a copy of the syllabus, click here
