Asian Film Connections, a multilingual site devoted to Cinemas of China, Japan, Korea, India, and Taiwan and sponsored by the University of Southern California and Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema.

Chinese Cinema Page, developed by the China Film Archives in Beijing; requires Chinese program (able to display Chinese characters) to view the page.

Chinese Movie Database, a useful site with a lot of current information, but the English title and the Chinese title do not always match.

Chinese Film Page, including brief reviews and other links that lead to great Internet sources on Chinese cinema in general.

New Chinese Cinemas, a course syllabus developed by Stanford University.

Tales of Old China, originally a site solely devoted to "Old Shanghai." My favorite site, including some information about Shanghai's famed film industry during the pre-1949 period.

Chinese Cinema, a site developed by Shelly Kraicer at the University of Toronto; a great gateway to short reviews, articles, and news about contemporary Chinese cienma.

Shanghai International Film Festival, a bi-yearly event that reminds one of Shanghai's heyday as China's "Hollywood."

Chinese Stars and Movies, a fascinating site that requires Chinese program (able to display Chinese characters) to view. Much information is on Hong Kong cinema and related news. Although fantastically designed (especially the front page), the ads on the leftside menu are very annoying. The most valuable portion is "History of Chinese cinema."
